The Philadelphia Inquirer
The Philadelphia Inquirer's Data-Driven Storytelling desk is a team focused on enterprise journalism, collaborating across the Inquirer newsroom to conceive of and guide data projects and reporting tools.
The Fox Fellow at the Inquirer will research, report, write, and produce news stories, including working with Inquirer reporters on articles and working on broader data journalism projects.
Under the supervision and direction of the Editor of Data-Driven Storytelling, the fellow will pitch story ideas that involve the use of data, including collecting data, such as through methods such as scraping websites or querying APIs, and analyzing it.
The Fellow, individually and in partnership with other reporters, will then report on and write those stories, adhering to ethical and journalistic standards.
Summer fellows are expected to work full-time for the Inquirer in their Philadelphia newsroom. The fellowship will also require extensive data analysis skills; students who do not have programming experience should not apply for this position.
The Fox Leadership Program hires fellows for The Philadelphia Inquirer during the summer.
Applications for the Summer 2024 fellowship are due Friday March 15th at 11:59 p.m.
