Fellowship Description

The Fox Fellows with CHILD USA work closely with the CHILD USA Founder and CEO Professor Marci Hamilton on number of research projects related to child welfare, protecting kids and preventing abuse. While the ongoing list of research project can change from time to time, past research projects have included: 

  • Tracking educational neglect statues across the county
  • Investigating judicial training on child sex abuse in the family court system across the United States
  • Research for the Game Over Commission for Youth Athletes studying the Nassar Sex Abuse Scandal
  • Research projects involving Statute of Limitation Reform. 

In the past, fellows have also assisted with communications and social media projects for CHILD USA and have planned on-campus events (including film screenings and speaker series) for the University community. 

Fellowship positions with CHILD USA during the fall or spring semesters are paid, part-time opportunities. Students are expected to work 8 - 12 hours a week. 

Summer fellows are expected to work full time for CHILD USA in Philadelphia.

How to Apply

The Fox Leadership Program hires fellows for CHILD USA during the fall semester, the spring semester and over the summer. Application deadlines for each specific time period are outlined below.

  • Fall Semester: August 20
  • Spring Semester: November 15
  • Summer: March 8

Interested Penn undergraduate students should send an email to with a resume and a cover letter specifying your interest in this fellowship. Since applications are accepted on a rolling basis, please indicate which term you are applying for in the subject line of the email. In the cover letter, please describe how the Fellowship will help you explore a particular career path and/or develop a specific skill.
